Processing systems for healthcare products need to meet the highest standards of hygiene, whether you are solidifying base ingredients or producing medical membranes. IPCO can supply easy-to-clean Rotoform pastillation systems that are Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant, FDA compliant, and suitable for cleanroom processing. We also offer innovative precision film casting systems to produce medical membranes via an equally rigorous GMP-compliant process.
Rotoform is inherently clean and hygienic, but we can also supply customized features to ensure that products meet the required standard.

All-stainless-steel framework and piping
A separate steel belt-tracking system to replace the standard rubber V-rope for cooling, to ensure the most hygienic surface
Special materials for seals and gaskets
Belt drive instead of chain
Enclosed belt washing box and jet air drying
Electric light in the product feed area and/or video recording in the pastille discharge area
Stainless steel oscillating discharge knife; and
Drum heating.
With the wide range of base ingredients used in healthcare products, versatility matters. Rotoforms systems can easily adapt to low- or high-viscosity melts (up to 40.000 mPas) and different pastille sizes simply by changing the rotary shell and nozzle bar.
Whether you are developing a lab-based process or process testing, or looking to manufacture at scale, there is a Rotoform model for your needs. Rotoforms are scaled for processing from 10–20 kg/hour up to 100–500 kg/hour to match your requirements.
IPCO’s continuous high-precision film casting system produces medical membranes via a phase separation process. In this process, casting solution is applied to a polished or mirror steel belt by means of a precision slot die. The endless-welded belt conveys the liquid to the process section. The IPCO system is unmatched for precision and reliability and adheres to a GMP-compliant design.

Base ingredients that are solidified into pastilles are easier to transport, handle, dose, and reprocess. The Rotoform range can form free-flowing, uniform pastilles from fatty acids, fatty alcohols, waxes, organic compounds, pigments, resins, surfactants, and more.
Pastilles are solidified directly from the melt, reducing energy use and equipment costs.

Fast cooling on a steel belt minimizes oxygen contact.
Rotoform systems can handle temperatures up to 300ºC.
Medical membranes play a key role in certain aspects of healthcare, including diagnostics, such as diagnostic tests, and liquid treatments. IPCO’s high-precision film casting system enables the production of medical membranes to exceptionally narrow tolerances. Like pastillation, the continuous membrane casting system is built around advanced steel belt technology and is GMP compliant.
