Active tracking
Our integrated active tracking system, suitable for new or upgraded systems, uses a conveyor drum pulley to angle the drum by adjusting the position of the drum bearing box. This creates the required belt tracking motion. Our integrated active tracking system is designed to ensure optimal conveyor performance by maintaining correct belt alignment and keeping the belt within certain side limits. This is achieved by adjusting the position for one of the conveyor belt drum bearing boxes longitudinally along the belt length.
The active tracking system is best suited to installations where an end station is being replaced or can be rebuilt, or for clean-sheet applications where the conveyor is being designed.

To control belt tracking using the integrated belt activity tracker system:
The conveyor frame must be stiff enough to cope
The tensioning system must maintain parallel movement of the tension drum bearings
The tracking effect is achieved by pushing one bearing housing on the drive drum forward or backward, causing a slight angle of the drum relative to the belt. This drum angle steers the belt in the appropriate direction. The running direction of the belt does not influence the tracking effect: the belt will move to the side with the lowest tension.
Tracking adjustment starts when one of the edge sensors is activated by the belt edge. The tracking cycle is a pre-defined sequence, which can be adapted to suit the conditions.
