The ScatterPro C enables accurate and efficient scattering of corundum for applications such as overlay papers, decorative papers, safety flooring, and other abrasion-resistant surfaces.
Specifically designed for the scattering of corundum, the ScatterPro C features an oscillating brush-off device that ensures precise scattering across the full product width.
Corundum, the hardest mineral after diamond, is widely used to produce safety floor coating and other abrasion-resistant surfaces, and paper coating. The ScatterPro C can apply significantly larger quantities of material compared with other systems, enabling a high abrasive class. The material is also provided more uniformly and precisely, minimizing wastage. This increases the service life of the wearing parts, ensuring a long scatter accuracy, with no readjustment necessary.
The versatile scattering system design allows rapid changeover to different types of corundum, as well as materials of different abrasion classes. Other uses for this unique process include sand scattering and silicon carbide scattering (carborundum). Typical applications include:
Safety flooring
Other abrasion-resistant surfaces
Overlay papers
Decorative papers

How it works
Powder is fed to the funnel-shaped hopper by means of vacuum sucking or an auger system. Inside the hopper, the powder is uniformly distributed and the level is kept constant during the scattering process.
Any risk of cavity formation and decomposition is avoided with the use of a special mixer (spiked roller). The scattering roller is mounted below the hopper and designed according to the powder size.
The powder is picked up by the scattering roller and stripped at an extremely durable doctor blade. The doctor blade design ensures even dosing over the whole scattering width. The scattering roller is driven by a servo drive, ensuring scattering of the required quantity (g/m2) onto the product.
The combination of a specially designed scattering roller and a modified oscillating brush device ensures accurate and uniform distribution of the material out of the scattering roll onto the substrate.
Benefits
Longer service life: low-wear design and easy servicing
Very high accuracy: uniform scattering over complete product width
Maximum versatility: discharge systems to suit all materials
Multi-unit solutions: combine two or more ScatterPro units on a line for continuous multi-layer production
High consistency: low-wear discharge means quality and accuracy is maintained for much longer
Custom design: options to meet specific requirements
Turnkey solutions: including feed/suction and extraction systems
Full integration: with our ThermoPress double belt press
Benefits
Lower investment costs compared to conventional mixing equipment
No resin-corundum mixing equipment required
No pot life for resin-corundum, as only corundum is needed
Even distribution over complete product width delivers material savings
Low downtime, as nozzles do not plug
No comminuting necessary, so rougher papers can also be coated
Lower energy costs
No change of hoses needed or hose pumps
Space-saving compact system design
