Rotoform 4G MC has been developed to produce pastilles as small as 0.8 mm in diameter directly from the melt, avoiding the need to grind or crush larger granules.
If your business needs to convert chemical products into micropastille form, the Rotoform 4G MC can help.
Our patented Rotoform solidification process produces consistently sized pastilles directly from the melt to help you maximize competitiveness through improved quality and productivity.
The Rotoform 4G MC is specially engineered to enable it to produce the smallest sizes of pastille (0.8–2.0 mm). Micropastilles are particularly fast and easy to dissolve, mix, or dose in subsequent reprocessing.
This process is suitable for any type of product that is formed into pastilles, granules or pellets, including:
Hot melt adhesives
Waxes
Resins
Detergents
Emulsifiers
Pharmaceuticals
Antioxidants

How it works
Like all Rotoform lines, the 4G MC combines a drop depositor with a steel belt-based cooler. Drops of molten product are deposited onto the moving belt by means of a perforated rotating shell that turns concentrically around a heated stator.
The heat of the drops is transferred via the steel belt cooler to water sprayed underneath, resulting in controlled cooling. The solidified droplets are discharged from the steel belt as uniform hemispherical pastilles.
Benefits
Direct from-the-melt solidification
Consistent pastille shape and size
High bulk density for storage and packing
Free flowing for easy handling, storage and reprocessing
Environmentally friendly production – dust-free, no risk of cross contamination of cooling water
Very low vapor/ gas emissions
Benefits
The precision of the Rotoform 4G MC is vital for producing uniform micropastilles.
The distance between the outer shell of the Rotoform and the steel belt is so small that pastilles do not fall but simply adhere onto the steel belt
The gap between the outer shell and the steel belt is critical and the Rotoform 4G MC has special devices for easy and accurate adjustment of its position in relation to the surface of the steel belt
The system also provides outstanding flexibility, offering quick and easy changeover to the production of normal-sized pastilles (3–8 mm diameter).
