The Rotoform 4G SC (supercooling) system is designed specifically for the efficient granulation of subcooling products. These are chemicals that remain liquid even when cooled past their melting point. The 4G SC has been developed from our market-leading Rotoform technology and is used in supercooling plants.
If you need to convert subcooling chemicals or additives into a solid form suitable for transportation, storage, dosing, and reprocessing, it’s time to discover what the Rotoform 4G SC can do for your business.
Our patented Rotoform pastillation process produces consistently sized pastilles directly from the melt to help you maximize competitiveness through improved quality and productivity.
The Rotoform 4G SC enables this process with subcooling melts, which are normally unable to solidify due to their lack of crystal nuclei. It achieves this by incorporating a precrystallizer to create a homogeneous suspension of crystal nuclei in the melt.
This has become the industry standard (and in some cases the only solution) for continuous and controlled pastillation of subcooling melts for specialty chemicals industry including:
Agrochemicals
Photochemicals
Plastic additives
Rubber chemicals

How it works
Like all Rotoform lines, the 4G SC combines a drop depositor with a steel belt-based cooler. Drops of molten product are deposited onto the moving belt by means of a perforated rotating shell that turns concentrically around a heated stator.
The heat of the drops is transferred via the steel belt cooler to water sprayed underneath, resulting in controlled cooling. The solidified droplets are discharged from the steel belt as uniform hemispherical pastilles.
Benefits
Direct from-the-melt solidification
Consistent pastille shape and size
High bulk density for storage and packing
Free flowing for easy handling, storage and reprocessing
Environmentally friendly production – dust-free, no risk of cross contamination of cooling water
Very low vapor/ gas emissions
