IPCO is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of premium quality steel belts used in the production of particle board, MDF, OSB, and LVL. We are a trusted supplier to all major press manufacturers and to end users in every corner of the world.
Our partnership with the wood industry began in 1901, when we supplied the world’s first steel belt to a Swedish sawmill. Since then, we have been responsible for a series of industry firsts: the first stainless steel belt, the first endless steel belt, the first 3 mm thick steel belt, and the largest wood-based panel steel press belt ever produced. No-one knows more about the steel belts than IPCO.
The specifications of a steel press belt – thickness deviation, flatness, and straightness – have a direct impact on the quality of the board produced. A combination of high-quality raw material, precision manufacturing technologies, and stringent quality checks ensures that every IPCO press belt can produce board material of the highest quality, with optimal flatness, optimal straightness and minimal thickness deviation.
Different boards place different demands on the steel belt, and selecting the right belt is a key factor in maximizing press productivity and the operating life of the belt itself.
Thin, high-density fiberboard requires thicker belts manufactured to extremely fine tolerances. IPCO’s linear belt grinding tool increases the quality of welded transversal joints.
OSB or oriented strand board lines use high strength press belts. These require special manufacturing techniques, including welding treatment and a pre-tensioning process unique to IPCO, both essential to maximizing belt life.
Thick or thin, chips, fibers, strands, or lumber, IPCO has the right wood based panel belt for the job.

Technical
IPCO 1650SM is a high strength, martensitic stainless steel with excellent mechanical properties. This, in combination with good corrosion resistance, makes it the ideal choice for the very harsh conditions of a WBP press. Another advantage is that it is easy to repair.
Thicknesses: 2.0–3.5 mm
Maximum width: 4,620 mm
Maximum length: 185,000 mm
IPCO 1100C is hardened carbon steel with a hard, smooth surface. Key characteristics include excellent wear resistance, very good fatigue strength, and very good thermal properties.
Thicknesses: 1.2, 1.4 mm
Maximum width: 3,500 mm
Maximum length: 200,000 mm
