Converting high-viscosity products, such as chocolate, resins and hot melts, into solid pastilles of uniform shape, stability, and quality at high capacity can be challenging. But that’s exactly what the Rotoform HP has been designed to do.
Rotoform HP includes innovative features to ensure high-capacity pastillation with maximum product uniformity, making it the ideal solution for chocolate chip formation, among other applications. What could it do for your business?
Our patented Rotoform pastillation process produces consistently sized pastilles directly from the melt to help you maximize competitiveness through improved quality and productivity.
Rotoform HP’s market-leading performance is due to a significantly larger inlet channel with increased outer shell diameter. This maximizes efficiency by distributing the melt across the full width of the steel belt cooler. The process delivers an extremely high level of pastille homogeneity for a uniform, free-flowing product, ideal for handling, blending, storage and further processing.
When used for chocolate chips, the system can be adapted to produce chips of different sizes (from 80,000 to 300 pcs/kg) simply by changing the shell.
Reliable, versatile, low-maintenance, and easy to clean, the Rotoform HP is available on new systems or as a retrofit replacement for older technologies.

How it works
Like all Rotoform lines, the HP combines a drop depositor with a steel belt-based cooler. Drops of molten product are deposited onto the moving belt by means of a perforated rotating shell that turns concentrically around a heated stator.
The heat of the drops is transferred via the steel belt cooler to water sprayed underneath, resulting in controlled cooling. The solidified droplets are discharged from the steel belt as uniform hemispherical pastilles.
Benefits
Direct from-the-melt solidification
Consistent pastille shape and size
High bulk density for storage and packing
Free flowing for easy handling, storage and reprocessing
Environmentally friendly production – dust-free, no risk of cross contamination of cooling water
Very low vapor/ gas emissions
Benefits
The Rotoform HP has been designed to deliver reliable, high-performance processing of high-viscosity products.
Ideally suited to chocolate chip production
Adaptable by chip size
Many other applications, including resins and hot melt
Engineered to maximize pastille/chip uniformity
Fewer parts for reduced maintenance and enhanced reliability
Simplified shell cleaning operations for greater productivity
Able to process both high- and low-viscosity materials
Available on new systems or retrofit
A specially engineered drop depositing systems ensures uniform pressure across the whole belt width to deliver uniform chips. Chips of different sizes – from 80,000 to 300 pcs/kg – can be produced by simply changing the shell.
